Ramsta kyrka is a parish church west of Uppsala, standing on a site that has held churches since the Middle Ages. The present building, completed in the 1920s, replaced two earlier structures lost to decay and fire.

The first church here was probably built in the thirteenth century and later enlarged, with wall paintings added in the fifteenth century. As the medieval building deteriorated, it was eventually demolished in the 1840s, and a new church in the Karl Johan style was completed in 1846. Many medieval fittings were carried over into this replacement.

Disaster struck again in 1914, when the church burned down, though some of the medieval furnishings were rescued from the flames. The current building was erected in 1925–1926 to designs by Sven Brandel, deliberately modelled on traditional medieval church architecture. Unusually, its orientation is reversed compared with medieval convention, with the chancel to the west and the tower to the east. The tower's curved roof and tall spire recall the character of eighteenth-century church towers, while the building itself comprises a rectangular nave, tower and a sacristy attached to the south side of the chancel.

Despite being a twentieth-century structure, the church houses several older treasures saved from earlier fires and demolitions. A triumphal crucifix from the mid-fourteenth century survives from the medieval church, though its crown of thorns has been lost at some unknown point. A silver communion vessel and paten also date from the fourteenth century, alongside a medieval censer, giving the interior a tangible link to the site's long history despite the relatively new building fabric.

Other notable furnishings include a pulpit with sounding board designed in a late Renaissance style, fitted with an eighteenth-century hourglass, and two brass chandeliers in the nave, the eastern one dating from the mid-seventeenth century. The wooden font was carved in 1951 by the music director Hjalmar Anjou. The church organ was built in 1932 and later modified in 1962.
