The church was built in 1986 and is located in the centre of the village, which today has around 3,500 inhabitants, with a library, youth centre, pizzeria and school as its nearest neighbours.
Mariakyrkan i Hammarkullen is a shared church building in the Hammarkullen district of Gothenburg, used jointly by the Church of Sweden and the Uniting Church in Sweden (Equmeniakyrkan). Originally built as the Tomaskyrkan, it reflects decades of ecumenical cooperation in the area.
A warm welcome to Mariakyrkan. You are welcome to come as you are, into fellowship with Jesus and with one another – in joy and in sorrow, in everyday life and in celebration.
